Intentional Community Conversations with Intend Indiana: Josh Mullens & Rocquel Johnson

Intend Indiana creates accessible, equitable pathways to make your dreams of being a homeowner a reality. In our new series, Intentional Community Conversations, our team will share information about our programs and how innovative financing and development solutions create and preserve affordable housing, support neighborhood revitalization efforts, and foster small business development.

To kick off the series, we’ll hear from Intend’s Real Estate Manager, Josh Mullens, and HomePower program participant Rocquel Johnson, as they discuss Homeownership 101, credit scores, equity, and why affordable housing opens doors to further wealth-building opportunities.

By seamlessly weaving together new housing construction and affordable financing, Intend’s HomePower program aims to provide homeownership in the Martindale-Brightwood community. HomePower was designed to foster equitable neighborhood investment and revitalization, as well as incentivize eligible homebuyers to invest in long-term home ownership. Benefits of the program include a 2% interest rate for the life of the loan, a homebuyer education course, and minimal closing costs.

Watch the full video below to hear from HomePower participant and homeowner, Rocky, on how Intend helped make her dream of owning a home a reality. If you’re inspired by this success story and want to learn more about how we can help, we encourage you to reach out!
