Renew Indianapolis is pleased to announce the Edge Fund, a mission-driven lender offering flexible financial products for affordable housing is now certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The Edge Fund is an innovative loan program operated by Renew Indianapolis that creates diverse and inclusive affordable housing opportunities across the housing spectrum.
“We are very proud to have received certification,” says Steven Meyer, Renew Indianapolis CEO. “CDFI certification for the Edge Fund will allow us to have even greater impact in underserved areas.” In its first year of operations, Edge Fund loaned over $5 million to create or preserve nearly 100 affordable housing units.
Edge Fund also received $125,000 grant from CDFI Fund to expand its operations. “CDFI grants are extremely competitive,” says Deputy Director Evan Tester. “The grant will allow us to serve more people across Indianapolis.”
