We’re excited to welcome two new fellows to the Trent L. Garrett Fellowship and Intend Indiana team! Keep reading to learn more about Lauren and Brian, and what this fellowship means to them.
Lauren Warfield:
Lauren has engaged youth and their families for over two decades in her work with WFYI, Edna Martin Christian Center, Youth Empowered, Inc., and Freetown Village.
She is a dedicated advocate for youth and community, evidenced by years of service and a passion for uplifting others with HUGs – Healing through Understanding and Growth.
Lauren is driven by a deep commitment to servant leadership instilled by her parents and their work within the Church of God In Christ and furthered by her Spanish language and culture studies at IU Indianapolis. This shaped her belief in the power of community collaboration and fuels her to lead in ministry alongside her husband at Light of the World Christian Church.
Brian Parks:
Brian Parks earned his MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in Summer 2025, with a focus on Real Estate and Entrepreneurship. His academic training complements his real-world execution in asset management, project planning, and sustainable community investment.
Brian owns Parks Legacies LLC, where he manages rental operations for multiple tenants in Indianapolis and has led renovation projects totaling over $300,000. His mission-driven approach promotes financial literacy and supports tenants in improving credit scores and achieving homeownership. Brian has experience in property management, home renovations, and tenant financial empowerment.
In addition to real estate, Brian spent over five years at IU Health, where he led grant-funded initiatives, created models to guide hospital strategy, and managed public health programs.
He also served as School Director for Young Life, where he fundraised and mentored youth, and remains active with youth mentoring and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
