2022 was another year defined by change as we strive to connect people to opportunity. Throughout the year, we focused on emerging from the pandemic as a more impactful organization with deeper partnerships focused on responding to community needs. Led by our values of transparency, integrity, empathy, inclusion, and innovation, we ended the year with a new name, new leadership, improved programs, and a vision for the future that is more equitable and representative.
Transparency begins with being clear about who you are and what you do. With growing programs serving new parts of the state, we sought a name that communicated that we are driven by purpose to advance comprehensive community development across the state. That vision is captured in our new name, Intend Indiana!
Intend is dedicated to being intentional and transparent about our goals and how they create opportunities for all. Over the next five years, we want to invest $50 million directly into Indiana communities by leveraging a mixture of philanthropic funds, Federal grants, and leveraged loans. The investment will directly support affordable housing development, below-market rate mortgages, and loans to XBE businesses.
I encourage you to browse our 2022 Annual Report to see the impact we’ve made over the past year, as well as view our 5-year vision plan, where you can see the progress we’ve made in creating opportunities for all in affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization efforts, and small business development.
Thank you to all our supporters, clients, partners, funders, and other stakeholders. We look forward to continuing to work with you as we connect Hoosiers to opportunity.
