Intend Indiana Breaks Ground on First Shelbyville Home Through Affordable HomeMatters Initiative

Shelbyville, Ind. — Intend Indiana is excited to announce the groundbreaking of the first new construction home in Shelbyville as part of its Affordable HomeMatters initiative. The groundbreaking will take place on Friday, December 20, at 11 a.m. at 109 Walker Street, Shelbyville, Indiana. This project represents the first step in a five-year commitment to develop affordable homeownership opportunities for low-to-moderate-income families in Shelby County.

This groundbreaking marks the beginning of a partnership between Intend Indiana and the City of Shelbyville, announced earlier this year. Through this collaboration, four homes will be constructed in Shelbyville, with funding support from $500,000 in Federal Grants provided by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) and financial support from the Blue River Community Foundation. Representatives from IHCDA, the City of Shelbyville, and the Blue River Community Foundation will join the groundbreaking event to celebrate this milestone.
